"thank you"-mlp - by conq
>"Th-thanks for giving me this hoodie, I was getting cold."
>That radiant smile that always warms your heart. A hint of blush on her soft cheek that reminds you of the connection both of you have. You wrapped your arms around her, adding more warmth.
>Sonata Dusk. Your dazzling melody in this otherwise colorless life.
>How you first met her is just a simple one. A small kindness from a stranger to a stranger in the time where fate have brought her low and you lend your hand to help her. And her first respond?
>"t-thank you."
>With a relieved smile and warm tears that took your heart away as her warm, dirty hand grasp your open hand. From there, a friendship is born...and the seed of love is planted. From there, you began to learn about her and she about you.
>Her goofy smile, her energetic yet playful behavior and her childish charm. The more you learned about her, the more attraction you have on her. It became difficult to fill your mind with other stuff other than her.
>At the eve of Valentine, you muster your courage and confess, pouring all your feelings with a red cheek. Time slows down as fear rise but her voice become the ringing bell of the church, so clear that it saves your soul from the abyss called depression.
>"I love you too Anon"
>And she smile again, filling you with love in a form of along kiss. Tongue wrestling included.
>Then time moves forward and the scene unveil in a bedroom filled with anxious and blushing couple. It was your first time alone with her in a bedroom with the intention of a loving union. Both of you kept a gap as you and sonata have no idea what to do. Blushing and avoiding eye contact, it was your pinkie finger that touches hand and slowly it transform into a hand-holding. From hand-holding, it evolves into a kiss and from a kiss, both of you began to disrobe. The direct skin contact was pleasurable.
>With sweat and in need of air, she look at you with a loving look
>"Thank you..for loving me, Anon"
>Then time moves again but the distance between you two lessens. The world became more brighter everyday as she laugh beside you but sometimes you caught her sad smile. It weight in your mind sometimes.
>Then it came when she called you to the living room. Her face is serious, lips tremble but clenched with determination. Her shoulder slumped, as if feeling the weight of the world on her naked shoulder.
>You too felt the crushing nervousness and pessimistic anticipation but your lips are tightly sealed.
>She finally croaked her fist word, breaking the silence. You tried to pulled her into your embrace but she evade, creating a large distance between two of you. Then she continued, lips trembling and choking with tears.
>The truth revealed with her eyes cast down, heavy with guilt and fear. She told you of her origin, her birthplace only known through myths and tales. You first denied them but denial quickly shattered with the glimpse of truth. By manipulating the precious gem you gave her, a horrifying image of horrific and unnatural union between horse and fish flashed through your mind: A siren, she called herself. Another mind-bending truth of this world.
>Out of breath and filled with crushing guilt, she turned her tearful face downward, ashamed of looking into your eyes but no more weight on her shoulder. Such are the equivalent exchange.
>She gave you a choice...no, an exit. To turn back now. To save yourself. To be happy in normalcy...and she encourage it with a forced smile, a gratitude and a condolence for the wasted time spent together. Her eyes still unable to meet yours.
>you stayed your ground and this alarmed her.
>her pleading voice slowly turned into a dark threat. A threat of suffering, loneliness and death.
>But you relent and slowly approached her with determined goal.
>And this scared her, forcing herself to cast horrifying image of death and abomination but it still not enough to deters you until you pulled her into a tight embrace.
>You counter her harsh words with kindness, comfort and love as she used her remaining strength to break free from you. It only take minutes until she broke down, burying her tearful face into your chest and returned your embrace with weakened strength.
>As you gently stroke her blue hair, you've never know how strong she was...until now. The strength and courage to share the truth about herself and the burden she carried with her smile.
>Then she unlatched face from your now-wet chest and finally look at you, her rose, puffy eyes staring at you. It always smitten you and it beckons you to kiss her dry lips. And kiss turned into an intimate act of procreation.
>The sun rises as both of you lay on the bed, exhausted. Sonata place her head on your naked chest, near to your heart. She looked at you with a relaxed face and a more stunning, yet loving smile.
>"Thank you"
>She said, with a joyful and free tone.
>"Thank you... for loving the real me"
>with a complementary kiss.
>And times goes by, slowly reaching its destination. With patience and hard work, you finally bought a rare crimson gem in a form of a ring. An engagement ring.
>And few days later, you propose to Sonata Dusk in front of her friends. Elated screams and congratulation was in order as she suddenly jumped on you, kissing you as both of you falls.
>A happy day for both of you and this memory still clings in your mind like a bedbug. Although life is difficult, both of you tried planning a small wedding ceremony. A rented wedding dress and tuxedo here and location there. A perfect plan was made.
>Before everything fell apart.
>it is still as fresh as a ripe fruit ready to be harvested. The memories that you kept and the parting word that she uttered.
>Few days before the wedding plan sprung into action. That late night where you felt something strange and uneasy as your eyes slowly forced itself open. In front of you is the worried face of Sonata, not in bed but standing few meter closer to the bed and in full clothing.
>You know her emotions now, like a critic on a complex paintings. A sad and worried face. She kissed you on your cheek then pause and she continues to kiss you on your forehead, slowly as not to wake you up. Even in your lucid state, you can feel her trembling lips touching your skin.
>This worries you, yet your body stayed asleep. Sonata took a deep breath and stand, walking quietly toward to door before looking back at you. This time, it's a familiar emotion. Guilt. The same guilt when she told of her origin.
>Your mind scream. The signal is clear as she quietly closed the door. Your mind quickly support you to get up with speculation of your worst nightmare yet your body did not. It still lay non-functional on the bed.
>It was the toughest battle in your life. To force your body to stand in which the strength of gravity is the strongest. The true heaviness of the human body.
>But your will prevail and slowly you gained control as your heartbeat pumped adrenaline.
>You opened the door and quickly rushed down. The sight of scrunched clothes on the floor, few missing photos and the slightly opened closet forced you to go faster. You screamed her name as you run toward the entrance of the house.
>And there she was, with a shocked face and a light bag beside her, in front of the entrance door... with her favorite boots ready to hit the road.
>First came a relief and then anger as you hug her. You want to blow up in front of her but...you cant. Not when she look at you with tears
>"Home"
>She said.
>"Home,Anon. I am finally going home"
>When you asked her to repeat.
>She smiles. A conflicting smile and you quickly realized it. To stay or to go. To be home or to be loved.
>to be or not to be. That is always the question.
>She shared a strong bond between the two side:Her home-world and...you. And she always think about this moment and a decision must be made. She gave her fate to you: To stay with you or to go back home. Time is short.
>Of course your heart say the former but your mind started to discuss the latter. 'What if she missed her home?', 'What if she have a family there?' and so on...
>The mystical world she always talked about. The beautiful land of Equestria.
>She is not from this world. Every creature yearn for their true home.
>You need her. She is the light of your life.
>But you wanted her to be happy. To see her long waited home.
>Happiness for Sonata Dusk, your fiancee and your love.
>And as such, you choose to let her go.
>A brave but foolish choice.
>Sonata was even shocked to hear it from you but she quickly kissed you. Her posture relaxed and her smile widen as she asked you to see her off. You relent...it was your choice after all.
>You followed her as she excitedly talked what she wanted to do when she get back. You, however, kept swallowing the growing emptiness and smile. You dont want to worry her.
>The destination was in front of the strange horse statue with her friend already there. They were shocked at first, but then congratulate you when you explained your choice. The Dazzle girls are giddy to go back home as purple haired girl explained about what will happened.
>Time grows shorter.
>And the portal slowly appeared, a swirly rainbow of vortex threatening to suck those who stand near. Sonata stand in front of you for the last time.
>You could change your mind. You could say 'dont go'.
>But a man and his word. The power of word, too holy to be broken.
>So you stand your ground and gave her your biggest smile. A perfect parting gift...for her. Her last kiss was a quick yet eternal moment for both of you. Tears falls from her but you swallow yours like a large, bitter pill.
>Her final act and a merciful one was giving you her engagement ring and find someone to be happy with, slowly cracking the bond you both have. You clenched it until your hand bleed.
>And the last moment
>She look at you with her usual bright smile.
>"Thank you"
>That word echoes again, threatening to shatter the already fragile strength.
>"Thank you for everything. For loving me, caring me and...saving me."
>It it became harder to swallow those tears.
>"Thank you Anonymous."
>Even the strong bend and shatters
>"And...I always love you"
>Time stopped and darkness consumes.
>How long has it been since she left?
>You finally opened your eyes. Another nightmare. Another memory.
>You throw away the whiskey bottle from the cold bed. Time for work. Beside you is a rope, strong and ready to be used. Another missed chance.
>The world became bland when you lost your light. your dazzling melody. The bed become cold. The food become tasteless. The world became odorless, soundless and colorless.
>Maybe one day, you might use the rope or drink the bleach beside your bed when you are drunk again.
>But today...you mask your sadness.
>Maybe one day you will meet her again.
